Makhtar Fall, known as Xuman, is an engaged Senegalese rapper, born in Ivory Coast and raised in Senegal. He began his career in the 1990s with the pioneering Senegalese rap group Pee Froiss and collaborated with various international artists. Xuman is best known for co-founding “Journal Rappé” in 2013 with Keyti, a program that presents news in rap form, blending humor and social critique to engage young Senegalese with serious topics such as politics and climate change.
