Pedzisai Ruhanya

Dr Pedzisai Ruhanya is a Senior Research Associate with the  Faculty of Humanities, University of Johannesburg’s Communication and Media Department. He is a Lecturer with the University of Zimbabwe’s Department of Creative Media and Communication. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Media and Communication Studies. He is a multidisciplinary academic with degrees in Sociology, Law, Media and Human Rights from Zimbabwe and the UK as well a fellowship from the USA’s Universities of New York and Minnesota and Post-doctoral research fellow with the University of Johannesburg. Dr. Ruhanya is a Legal Practitioner, Conveyancer and Notary Public  based in Harare. He has several publications in media, democracy, law and political transitions. His research interest are on the role of dissidence media in  democratic transitions in the age of social media and artificial intelligence.
