About The Hub

The Hub Unconference returns on 24–25 September 2025 at The Green, Harare Gardens, Zimbabwe, bringing together 300+ participants for two days of bold conversations, skill shares, and creative exchange.

As part of Shoko Festival 2025, Zimbabwe’s longest-running urban arts festival, this year’s Hub Unconference runs under the festival’s milestone theme “The Legacy XV”, marking Shoko’s 15th anniversary. This landmark edition promises to be the most ambitious yet, with groundbreaking international collaborations, powerful headline acts, and transformative debates on Africa’s digital future.

From AI in journalism to decolonising content creation, from open data to African social movements, the Hub Unconference is a space where academics, artists, journalists, activists, and creators come together to reclaim narratives and imagine new futures for the continent.
