Sharon Chideu, popularly known as Magi, a Women Human Rights Defender (WHRD), is a multifacetedZimbabwean artist and digital security advocate. As an actress, trained filmmaker, scriptwriter, journalist,stand-up comedienne, and MC, she has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry. Her role inthe popular comedy show Bustop TV has earned her recognition in the form of awards: 2016 ZimbabweInternational Women’s Awards, 2018 National Arts Merits Award nomination for Outstanding Comedian,2020 4-H Zimbabwe Younth awards and mentorship programme and 2026 Nama award for best tvproduction (scriptwriter).However, Sharon’s passion extends beyond the screen. She is the founder of a startup company that focuseson women empowerment through digital securityTraining and awareness, amongst other initiatives. As a Digital Security Advocate, she conducts workshopsand training sessions for organizations, companies, and individuals, equipping them with the skills tonavigate the online world safely and securely.Sharon’s work with Defend Defenders and Safe Sisters taken her to the international stage, including the 73rdOrdinary Session of the African Charter on Human and People’s Rights in Banjul. In 2022, she was selectedfor the prestigious Friedrich Naumann Womentorship Fellowship, and in 2025, she was honored as aWomentorship Champion, recognizing her continued impact and leadership.She also completed a podcast masterclass hosted by Acast and Magamba,Which led to the launch of her own podcast, Her Baobab Story, produced under her company.
