Makhtar Fall, known as Xuman, is an engaged Senegalese rapper, born in Ivory Coast and raised in Senegal. He began his career in the 1990s with the pioneering Senegalese rap group Pee Froiss and collaborated with various international artists. Xuman is best known for co-founding “Journal Rappé” in 2013 with Keyti, a program that presents news in rap form, blending humor and social critique to engage young Senegalese with serious topics such as politics and climate change.
Beyond his musical career, Xuman uses his platform to raise awareness about social and political issues, denouncing injustices and promoting positive change. His contributions to culture and education in West Africa have made him a respected and influential figure in the Senegalese musical and media landscape
